Terms of Service

The service

Phonefront connects to your online store, learns your catalog, delivery zones, and hours, and answers calls to a phone number we provide. It can answer questions, take orders, and place them into your store. As a last resort, for an urgent problem it can't handle, it transfers the call to the number you choose. Phonefront is available to businesses in Canada.

Your account

• Keep your sign-in details secure; you're responsible for activity on your account.
• Only people you authorise should manage your business on Phonefront.
• Give us accurate information, and keep your store, hours, and emergency transfer number current.

Your responsibilities

• Your store is the source of truth. Prices, stock, products, delivery fees, and hours come from your store and settings — keep them accurate.
• You remain responsible for your orders: confirming, fulfilling, and delivering them, taking payment, and handling refunds and customer service.
• You're responsible for complying with the laws that apply to your business, including rules for age-restricted or regulated products (for example, verifying age at delivery).
• You're responsible for how you use callers' personal information, consistent with our Privacy Policy and applicable privacy law. Every call starts with a notice that it is recorded.
• Don't use the service for unlawful, deceptive, or harmful purposes, or to place calls to people.

AI limitations and test mode

The call taker uses artificial intelligence. It is designed to state only what it finds in your catalog and settings and to place orders only after reading them back, but it can mishear or make mistakes. Review your orders as you would any order. New businesses start in test mode, where calls run in full but orders are recorded only in your dashboard and never sent to your store; you decide when to go live.

Plans and payment

Plans, included calls and lines, extra lines, and credit pricing are described on our pricing page. Prices are in Canadian dollars and exclude applicable taxes. Plans renew each billing period until cancelled; calls beyond your plan use prepaid credits as described there. Custom plans are governed by the terms agreed with you in writing.

Phone numbers

The phone number we provide for your call taker remains ours. If your account closes, the number may be released. Your own business number stays yours — forwarding it to Phonefront can be undone at any time with your carrier.

Your data

Your store data, settings, and call records belong to you. You give us permission to use them only to provide and improve the service for you, as described in our Privacy Policy. We keep your store API keys encrypted.

Cancelling and closing

You can stop using Phonefront at any time by contacting us at support@buildmeapp.io. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or others at risk; where reasonable, we'll tell you first.

Disclaimers and liability

We work to keep Phonefront available and accurate, but the service is provided “as is”: we don't guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that every call will be answered or every order captured correctly. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses such as lost profits or lost sales, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Changes

We may update these terms as the service evolves. We'll post the new version here with its date, and tell you by email about material changes before they take effect.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
